Description
What shall we do?
- Corrections of errors and name changes, whether due to Administrative Process with the Demographic Registry or through court proceedings, as applicable.
- Administrative Process: a procedure with the Demographic Registry, available only in limited cases, usually when the error originates from the Registry itself.
- Legal proceedings: a court proceeding to obtain an order directed at the Civil Registry, which is typically required for name changes and for most corrections that cannot be processed administratively.
- 100% remote process: we manage the case from Puerto Rico without you having to travel.
- Written guidance and requirements: We will confirm the appropriate process, the required documentation, and the next steps once we receive the Evaluation Form.
Important note: In the vast majority of cases—and particularly in cases involving name changes—theprocess is a legal one and requires a court order addressed to the Demographic Registry.
The correction for the Administrative Process is usually applied only in exceptional cases, typically when the error originates from the Demographic Registry, in which case the process may involve correcting the certificate.
